What to Expect During the Third Trimester

  • The second trimester lasts from week 28 to about 40, or when you give birth.

  • Many women report feeling abdominal achiness, fatigue, back aches, leg cramps, crazy dreams, heartburn, and Braxton Hicks contractions.

  • Get ready to feel some serious, kicks, punches, and rolls from your baby. Towards the end of this trimester, baby will be using all 5 senses, and will begin to shed the lanugo. By week 34 baby should turn in a head down position in preparation for labor and delivery. There is a possibility baby will stay in an upright position called breech; your doctor may manually turn him or her around by week 37.
