Keys Healthy Start Coalition participates in the Florida Outreach
Childbirth Education Program. We have several certified childbirth
educator classes to choose from. These classes are open to all moms
and dads in the Keys, no matter where you plan to give birth. The
focus is prepared childbirth, comfort, relaxation, and informed choices
during birth as well as basic newborn care and feeding information.

Begins Wednesday, January 13 - 6:30pm-8:30pm for four weeks
In this six-week childbirth preparation program for expectant parents
you'll learn about what happens when you give birth. The course covers
Cesarean birth and procedures, relaxation and breathing techniques,
breastfeeding, and other important newborn care information. We suggest
that you enroll before your seventh month of pregnancy. Cost of the
class is $100 and includes a prepared childbirth handbook. The class
fee is not covered by insurance, Medicaid or CHAMPUS.
There is no eligibility for refunds if you don't complete the class.
